Gwen believed deeply in the power of education. In her honor, the foundation awards annual scholarships to students in the Outer Banks community who demonstrate resilience, compassion, and a commitment to making a difference; qualities Gwen embodied every day.
Academic Achievement
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance and a commitment to continued education.
Community Involvement
We look for students who give back through volunteering, mentorship, or service to those in need.
Personal Resilience
Students who have overcome adversity or supported a family member through illness are especially encouraged to apply.
Local Ties
Applicants must reside in or around the Outer Banks, NC area and be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited institution.

Community Outreach & Events
Coming Together for Families
Beyond scholarships, the foundation brings the Outer Banks community together through events, fundraisers, and direct family support. Every gathering is a chance to honor Gwen's spirit, which was joyful, generous, and full of life.
Family Support Fund
Direct financial assistance to families in the Outer Banks area whose children are battling rare or life-threatening diseases which covers medical travel, lodging, and daily expenses.
Mom Prom
An annual celebration bringing together womenfor a night of joy, dancing, and community. All proceeds support the foundation’s programs.
The Gwen Game
A memorial lacrosse tournament honoring Gwen’s love of the sport. Teams compete in her memory while raising funds for the families we serve.
Giving Tuesday
As a local Outer Banks nonprofit, our Foundation will be participating in Giving Tuesday seeking donations for the Fund to help families and to spread awareness about Gwen's legacy.
